I feel bad for Kyrie Irving…
…because he seems completely unaware that time keeps moving on and he’s already squandered a lot of his career over drama. The ability to play is not in question but I would have serious doubts about his desire and effort.
I don’t know what the Nets or anyone else can do about it, either, but I would be nervous about rostering him going forward; between his age, his inconsistency of attendance, his jumping on the latest social issues to avoid the court and his track record for leaving franchises high and dry the risk factors are just to great to merit a large, lengthy contract.

The last I heard, Kyrie is pretty upset with Barstool Sports for posting this video on Twitter.
OT but...when my daughter was younger she loved this show. We used to watch it together. Good memories for Dad. I just remembered Kyrie was in an episode after his rookie season. I'm not sure why this popped into my head, but I think it's interesting to contrast this with the Kyrie of today. your mileage may vary

I'm pretty sure that Kyrie doesn't even pay attention to what people are saying about him online.
He was paying attention, I read the story early this morning.

Kyrie is "out there", but at least he has not gotten close to the "out there" occupied by the talented, yet unpredictable Marvin "Bad News" Barnes of the St. Louis Spirits of the ABA in the 1970s (RIP Marvin, you were fun to watch, as you went from one train wreck to another).
Go Friars…

Barnes once refused to board a plane from Louisville to St. Louis. Because the flight was scheduled to arrive (Central Time) before its departure time (Eastern Time), Barnes famously said, "I ain't getting in no damn time machine." He rented a car instead.
I cannot stand Kyrie, the guy has got all that talent but you simply can’t count on him.
Moss, TO, Irving ect.. ect.. if these idiots just played the game to the best of their ability they would have been so much better off

Dallas are expected to go hard after Kyrie. I don't know why Mark Cuban would do Luka dirty like that if you're going to talk to the Nets about a trade just see what it will take to get Durant instead.

Luka and Durant playing together would be formidable.
As far as Kyrie Irving goes, who would want to take on all of the uncertainties, negatives and frustrations that are attached to him? Does his superb talents on the court make it worthwhile to put up with everything else?
I think in the Mavs case, they just lost Jaylen Brunson to the Knicks for no return so they're now in a tough position after losing their 2nd best player so I can see how trading for Kyrie might make sense in their eyes. Plus he's only on a one year deal.
Durant asking for a trade just flipped the entire NBA free agency on its head when it just started less than an hour ago.
I know that there's been some serious talk here in Boston over the past week about a Kevin Durant for Jaylen Brown plus picks hypothetical proposal thrown out there by one of the Celtics tv announcers. It started all kinds of talk here about how Boston doesn't respect Jaylen Brown's contributions and he was actually even liking fan comments on twitter about how this region doesn't respect him enough. Its bad enough that we spend half of every season listening to the media/fans tell us that Tatum & Brown can't coexist together and win a title and now throwing his name out there for Durant in trade rumors. Its gotta be very tempting for not only Boston's front office, who just fell two wins short of a title, but also every other contender out there.
One thing is for sure,Brooklyn's roster is open for business especially when most of their future draft picks are owned by the Houston Rockets for a player currently on the 76ers lol.

Kyrie puts me very much in mind of primadonna NFL WRs
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I don't feel bad at all - all the BS he has pulled, always getting hurt in the playoffs, and this years contract is worth 37 Million? How the hell can you feel bad about that - He and Baker Mayfield (18 Million not playing this year) should get together and make some commercials.......
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
In hindsight, the fact that he chimed in to say he wanted the record corrected it to say “NBA Champion and Gold Medal” and said nothing about ruining three franchises is so very telling.
@Steven59 - I don’t feel bad for his bank account. I do think these guys don’t realize how quickly the flavor of the week changes and how quickly youth fades. He could make $45 and be going for titles instead of sitting out until the playoffs and losing in the first round. This Nets team had Harden, Kyrie and Durant at one point. That should have been titles. Plural. They could be drafting pieces to add and go for a dynasty. Instead, the team broke up quicker than a Britney Spears marriage and will be on a rebuild. It went from who wouldn’t want to play with Kyrie to why would anyone want to?
