Last Sunday, June 19th I auctioned one 2021-W $1 Silver Eagle Burnished Type 2 PCGS SP-70 on GC.
Hammer: $73

Yesterday, June 26th I auctioned another 2021-W $1 Silver Eagle Burnished Type 2 PCGS SP-70 on GC.

I originally sent both coins to GC for same auction.
I called GC and asked why they split up the two 'like' coins.
Tom at GC said the GC software automatically does this, I assume to optimize maximum gains.
Smart move I might add.
Anyone want to chime in here? That's approximately a 182% increase over the previous week.

Auctions take 2. Very dangerous to auction widgets.
Father's Day travel or activities took a few people away from the site that day, perhaps. Curiously, more people tracking the cheap one, but more page views on the expensive one.

Auctions are always roll of the dice.
It’s just a one-off auction result. Don’t read too much into it.

Common modern "stuff" can vary widely in price depending on how many overanxious bidders are in the market that day.
Could be the people were testing the water and seeing what the first would go for. Unfortunately for them, they found competition! Im guessing a high bid followed up by a nuclear bid.
For me, auctions are almost never a fun place to buy anything.
If i want to pay top dollar for a coin, token or medal, I can buy it at auction.
