I wonder how many are actually “active” and with inventory current? I know I still have an NGC registry set from way back but I lost my credentials so it just sits there.
How many belong to just Hanson??
Just to compare the NGC registry has just over 167,000 US coin registry sets, while I did not add up all the world sets I suspect it is approaching close to 200K in total sets.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Wow... I do not have any registry sets, but did not realize this area of collecting was so popular. I have looked at some registry sets (certainly worthy coins), just never felt like doing that. Cheers, RickO
Love the registry set component of collecting. Sometimes its fun to try and play with the big dogs. Other sets are just satisfying to complete. Congrats everyone!
The registry set is great for keeping track and record of your collection.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Registry Sets. I love the challenge of completing a set and seeing it preserved for posterity. But it illustrates clearly that you need to be extremely wealthy to have a chance at a top rank in any classic set.

Establishing registries was the most brilliant marketing strategy ever in the numismatic sphere. A huge boost to a TPG's sales of its services. Pure genius.

Now listen boy, I'm tryin' to teach you sumthin' . . . . that ain't no optical illusion, it only looks like an optical illusion.
My mind reader refuses to charge me....
You??? Mr. 90,000 posts??? I would have never guessed. Hopefully, starting one of the sets will appeal to you.
Even before the registry, I don't think there was any question that you needed a lot of money to have a top set. My participation in and enjoyment of the registry is not contingent on having a #1 set.

The registry sets have made AU55 the best bargain in numismatics if you are not chasing top registry. I love AU55, the registry folks ignore them and chase the far pricier AU58.
I too like AU55s and 53s and 50s as well. Lots of great coins at all grade levels. Registry points are not why I collect.

Since the topic is registry I thought I would share this ........ironically no awards for me as I do not qualify according to PCGS criteria...
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
