So much for Authenticity! A good chuckle, for me anyway.

I was poking around eBay trying to get an idea of what my various Silver Proof Sets would bring and ran across an auction that had ended for a 1959 proof set that was in an interesting folder and came with a COA. The photo showed the correct coins but boy the COA missed the mark by about 6 years not to mention the composition of the half dollar! Being detailed oriented is a necessary quality to be a successful numismatist IMO but evidently not a 'Director of Numismatics'!!

Perhaps you should contact Arthur and let him know about his egregious error?

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Thanks and I did send him an email via the link you provided. With his experience he is definitely well qualified to be a 'Director of Numismatics' but oversights like that can chip away at ones reputation even if the person is not directly responsible for the content.

Obvious error on the COA, were the coins actually 1959? Cheers, RickO
Yeah it was a 1959 Proof Set still in the cello. So I sent an email to Mr. Blumentahl and he answered me back...he thinks the cert was something done after he was no longer consulting with the issuer. Makes sense...
