Just saw an ad on the FBN about a 2022 $50 gold eagle from the Westminster mint graded by NGC MS 70 for $1899. Seems impossible but I will Check it out.

It's actually Global Mint. www.globalmint1.com. Spoke to a guy named Kyle and it's for real. Did a BBB check and they had a 4.75/5 approval rating. This would be my very first gold purchase. Should I pull the trigger? Free shipping and handling. I know it's NGC but the PCGS price guide has it at $2600.

Gold is at $1824 so that's a decent deal.

Personally I'd be happy to have it slabbed for authenticity but to me it's a bullion coin so the actual grade is not that significant. Plus, I don't think you can use the PCGS price guide for NGC coins.

Just make sure there are no strings attached.

Edited, as I misread the original post: When buying coins, don't go just by price guides - that can get you in big trouble.

@JBK You were correct about not comparing the PCGS price guide to NGC. NGC has it $300 less. Like I said being new to gold $75 over spot even ungraded seemed pretty good to me. Can I do better? If you had <$2000 to spend on gold what would you buy? Thanks guys.

Okay, they say $50, but a private mint.

How much gold is there in there?

    purity?

Depends somewhat on what you are wanting out of it. If just looking for a gold bullion type purchase to have some gold, then pick one with the smallest/smaller buy / sell spread. I am not one of those so others can say what that might be but I think maybe gold bars, gold buffalos, maple leafs...??

Agreed. You couldn’t get it graded for the difference in spot and asking price. Plus wait 3 months to find out what you have. Pay. with PayPal It’t bullion

    Okay, I concede.

It is a US mint piece.

With current gold: Gold $1824.16/oz 0.92

    That is a good deal

Thank you for all your comments. I checked like 5 other bullion sites and, paying with a CC, were anywhere from $25-$100 dollars more ungraded. I understand that there is no numismatic value here, so I may search around a little for something that does. I always liked the incuse Indians.

They give you a better price because they want your contact information.
