Is this an overdate on 1843 Seated Liberty Half Dollar

At first I thought this was just a die cud; however, it appears like a digit is struck under the date. I couldn't find any known overdate varieties for this year. Any information on what this might be would be greatly appreciated.

What digit do you propose is there and under what part of the date? These types of little details help.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Under the '1' and slightly to the right, there appears to be something more than a die break; that is what I was referring to when I said digit.

This is WB-22, LDS. A cool variety in my view.
And they are indeed heavy die cracks.
