Just after a bit of advice on what's the best course of action regarding the the oak tree threepence I found I've been contacted by the museum and they've decided that it's not classed as treasure trove😃
So it will be split 50/50 between myself and the landowner and they are wanting me to sell it which I'm happy to do, just not sure how to go about it, I think ideally it should be returned America any advise would be welcome thanks.

Get it slabbed and then consign it to a specialty dealer or an auction. Easiest path is to send it to Great Collections raw.
I agree that there are advantages to having it graded and holdered by our host. Have you made an impromptu grade based on known examples? Good luck. Peace Roy

Call Great Collections. Or email them. They will give you best options.
Very good advice above. Great Collections would be an excellent venue. Let us know what you do. Cheers, RickO
I've emailed great collections just waiting for a response, thanks again everyone for sound advice 👍 I'll let you know what happens.
@tynetraveller2000 is there a picture of it somewhere, I would like to see what it looks like. I love coins from this time.
