PCGS 1875 First Strike Half Dollar in MS70!
Wow, I totally did not expect there to still be mint sealed boxes out there from 1875 postmarked within the first 30 days of release! This has got to be a very special coin. I'm thinking that PCGS might be a little optimistic with that MS70 grade though... but who am I to judge from a picture. At $250 this MS70 is a steal, not sure why I haven't hit the BIN already.
I noticed that PCGS failed to add a coin date on the slab. But why bother when you can clearly see the date on the coin? Its not like this is a questionable PO01 here. The new theory here is if you can't see the date you have no business buying coins. I will note however that the seller needs to get glasses or stop peddling coins since he clearly misstated where this half dollar was minted. This is no 1875-S, this is the much more sought after 1875-CC variety. I can tell this because there is the little carbon copy symbols below the eagle on the reverse. I think that CC stands for Chinese Chit.
This awesome half also has the RFID label so I know I am getting the real deal and can buy with confidence!
I'm just in awe with this 1875 half graded PCGS MS70 First Strike! Take a look for yourself... https://ebay.com/itm/354109344893?hash=item52728fcc7d:g:ytUAAOSwr4xiqU~B
For the sake of images when the listing disappears, ole Ricko should appreciate this...

Looks like I waited too long as it has already sold. I guess if you snooze you loose. What a great price for such a great coin
Sold for $250.
What a steal!
If I had $250 and was too lazy to burn the money in a fireplace, I would have bought it.

Looks cleaned to me
Bizarre coin and plastic. Certainly both fake.
It won't cac thou 🤧
That's just it, the PCGS case and insert certainly fake, but the half? It kinda looks good.

Upon second glance: yea the coin is counterfeit too. . .

If it wasn't so expensive, that would be a fun coin for a coin dealer to put in his display case. It would be a real conversation starter.

Buy the coin not the grift. No one should be fooled by fake slabs if they just looked at the coin.
Terrible looking coin. The other posters must have been sarcastic?
I wonder if the buyer is happy with his expensive conversation piece or will be very disappointed when they realize there are no MS70 Seated halves graded by PCGS. I just can't imagine a collector with $250 to spend would fall for this one. There aren't any 1875, P/S/CC, that are graded MS68 or higher.
Thanks for capturing the listing... It does appear to have sold - unfortunately. Cheers, RickO
