Worth grading?

Found this Illinois commemorative half dollar
while coin roll hunting. Any opinions on getting it graded? Fairly new to collecting. Thanks

Spectacular find!!! Total expense for grading, including shipping, can run from approx $20-100, depending on service selected. To break even, this would need to grade MS61 or 62.
It's hard to tell with the pictures but I don't see this grading MS. I would recommend keeping raw and enjoying or selling raw, depending on your choice.
Nice find. It has obvious hairlines in the obverse field that are not attractive so, if you slab it, it will come back as AU details, cleaned. Not worth slabbing, IMO, and probably a $50-75 dollar item. Still, a nice find. Keep it or sell it as you wish.

No, I don't think it's worth the $$ to get it graded. Looks AU to me with a rub on Lincoln's jaw and cheek bone, and on Eagle's wing tip and breast.

Thanks for the help!
I never come close to "finding" anything like that........................

I do a lot of hunting and it isn't typical. Had a lucky box with a collection dump. Mostly clad proofs and clad commemorative Halves. But did have this one and one other silver. A Columbian

expedition that is in pretty rough shape.
No
Neither is worth grading. The Illinois has hairlines that would cause a details grade. The Columbian is not worth much circulated. Both are worth keeping and would look nice in a 7070 Type Set album.

Thanks, and thanks for all the info.
That’s a nice find, but it doesn’t look like the Lincoln would get a mint state grade. Here’s my MS-64 Lincoln for comparison.

Worth slabbing? nope

@SHAWNK4368.... Welcome aboard. As noted above, not worth sending in for slabbing. Great finds, and I would certainly keep them if I found them CRH'ing. Cheers, RickO
Both commems are great finds, but neither is worth certifying. Thus far you are far ahead with those two coins, but if you submit either you will be burning your profit for no reason.

Agreed... the OP coin is AU details, cleaned and not worth the grading fees. Cool finds nonetheless! It's not often you can score ~$30 worth of silver just by looking through rolls...

It's very surprising to come across that searching rolls.
You were certainly in the right place at the right time. It does happen. Congrats, stunning finds!!

Nice find!
Hard times result in hard finds. People are digging deep and not necessarily the owners.
