Lesson learned not to send in a coin because it "looks like something"
Obviously I know what that something is now. ..I wonder what mount was removed! Ugh

    Yep.. Looks like solder from a cuff link attachment... It can be removed, but there will be evidence remaining. Cheers, RickO

    Thanks for posting. Sometimes mistakes are difficult to swallow, but hopefully some new collectors can learn from it.. You certainly did

    Seems like inexpensive tuition. A good thing. Sometimes tuition is much more expensive. The key thing is to learn from it and get wiser.
