1959 D error penny

I found a 1959 D penny that looks like it has been struck with what i thought was a wheat penny. It also looks like it was struck with a dime obverse and reverse of the coin. I see a head struck next to Lincoln's head to the right. It is looks like it was struck several times. The penny has the shape of the wheat where the edge of the coin is but It may be a dime design. Please take a look I do have a lot pictures because it is suck an odd coin with a lot going on. Let me know what you see and think. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ahEBu14c6xRPhG8h7

Fake, and I did not even look at the photo
oh well that would be a bummer. I got it in my coin rolls from the bank.
100% genuine damage on a 100% genuine coin.
Mint damage? I think it is a genuine coin.
I can’t understand how someone that looks at such a coin and does not realize that it’s a severely damaged coin (PMD) It isn’t a fake, it’s just a severely damaged coin. Damaged in circulation

PMD
Just a bunch of post mint damage (PMD)
I knew it was a weird penny but wasn't just going to disregard it with as just PMD damage. I've also read about severely damaged coins be worth something and brushed off as PMD. It also looked like a fold over strike.
What you have is a "sandwich job" wherein a genuine coin is placed between two other genuine coins and struck with a hammer or squeezed in a vise. No numismatic value, sorry.
This coin shows nothing of the such. It’s just damaged. Unless I’m not seeing something right.
Ok thanks
If he's seeing designs from other coins, it's sandwiched. Otherwise, it's just regular damage.
I looked at all of his pics, didn’t see anything like that. Sometimes my eyes fool me though, lol
Ok thanks
No, it didn't.
A genuine fold-over strike is shown in this thread. There is nothing about your coin that looks remotely like a fold-over strike.
No. Damage after it left the mint. Run over or hit with a hammer.
ok
No big deal. We were all fascinated by these weird looking oddities when we were starting out. I think i even created a few.
good to know. Thank you for your comments and info. I appreciate it.
Question? How do you get sticky stuff off a coin without damaging it? I found a 1974 penny that has sticky stuff on it which is unfortunate but don't want to damage the coin.
Soak in 70% alcohol for 24 hours or so, then pat dry…no rubbing as that will damage the coin
ok alcohol got it. thank you.
Thank you so much for the information. So much appreciated. Also thanks for the tip for getting sticky stuff off without damaging it.
Totally PMD on the cent. And acetone is great for removing organic material and will not affect the metal. Cheers, RickO
great thank you. With Acetone is there a certain brand or is it just acetone nail polish remover?
Never use nail polish remover. Too many additives. Get the stuff at your local hard ware store
I was double checking. I don't want to use anything that will create damage. so thank you.
Point one out for us, please. If so, I need to start buying damaged, fold over strike, coins.
I bet the guy down in the Walmart parking lot could hook me up with a few?
bob
sure no problem. I will have him set up a table for you.
