How would you grade and value a coin like this? (a battered buffalo)
Say you owned this con (coin) and were going to offer it for sale online how would you value it?
What price would you be comfortable asking?

I would grade it just as PCGS has per their evaluation and label.
As for value, offhand I don’t know but suspect the extensive historic archives of Heritage in combination to completed sales on EBay would be a good place to start.
I might guess that there are no shortage of interested buyers for this important key error- even corroded.

Assuming I’m the one that cherried it, I’d probably price it around G6 money, but be open to offers.
Going to be a tough sell in that condition. For the same money, I personally would rather have a cleaner coin with a scratch or gouge and a clearer date.

If I had such a coin, it likely would have been acquired in a bulk buy of Buffs (BBB - see what I did there
).... If I submitted and it slabbed (as above), I would be most happy to recover my costs and 20% profit.... Cheers, RickO
It looks roached. I don't know how i would describe it or try to sell it.
What a shame......................

There is no shortage of 18/7 buffalos in most any grade. Not saying this wouldn’t sell as a lot of people would love to have one in any grade. I just sold an acid dated one on eBay graded by ANACS for $290. I could see yours going for around that if not a little more.

If I owned it and didn't it, I would list it on eBay. Start the bidding at 5¢. You might start a bidding war.

Post as ungradable, ED. Asking like $250. You'll sell it.
Acid dates regularly seem to sell for $250-300. This is still a highly in demand coin. I would probably offer it at about $450?

All this talk about battered buffalo is making me hungry.
