1926 P & S Oregon Trail Silver Commemorative Set information

Doest anyone have any information on the rarity and/or value of this set in its original packaging.
I read that the coins do not exhibit any tab toning because they are pre-1936.
Thank you!

Not sure, but I'd be interested in buying them!
Both coins appear to be 1926-S.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
The fact that the coins are pre-1936 wouldn't preclude them from acquiring tab-toning.
Mark Feld* of Heritage Auctions*Unless otherwise noted, my posts here represent my personal opinions.
They are, Tom. Both are 1926-S.
Brings to mind the horribly struck circulation coins from SF that year.
I don't expect an answer, but I have to comment on the nicer struck Commemorative coinage. Did mint employees really care about quality? Did they on purpose take more care on the Commemorative coinage?
It's just food for thought.

The original buyer likely ordered two 26s halves, and they seem to have been mailed or stored in that Dennison mailer, as many Oregons developed that dark brown mottled toning from the mailer. The mailer and pamphlet might be worth $50-100 and the coins are worth whatever they grade, perhaps MS63-64 if the upper coin was not hairlined from a cleaning. Here's a PDS set of mine:
Here's another similar mediocre set, it reminds you that the beautifully tab-toned Oregons are probably not too common

The Oregon Trail commemorative is a favorite of mine.... The design speaks to me and is well presented. Cheers, RickO
