2022D Sally Ride Quarter Die Gouge on Obverse?

arby96arby96 Posts: 229 ✭✭✭

While CRH today for W's, which I found three. I found this, a 2022D Sally Ride Quarter that appears to have a die gouge coming off Georges Nose. Looks like George may need some tissue.

May be an ongoing die variety.

Right - if actually a die gouge many more should show up as fast as they were producing them quarters......

Nice find.... Should be more out there. I have not seen one of those yet....Just got the first Maya Angelou quarter - found in a Coinstar reject slot. Cheers, RickO

not a die gouge unless it appears as a raised surface on the coin. Otherwise just a regular old coin gouge (PMD).

    That's a pretty big gouge.

It might one day carry a premium, especially if it's given a catchy name like "Snot Nose". etc.

Looks like a strike thru error to me.
