Express Service is now 25 days...Update 9/2/22 Express Service is back to 15 days

https://www.pcgs.com/statistics/
Has it ever been this high before?
It's been at 15 days for quite some time now, and PCGS has done a great job getting those submissions out within the allotted time.
I believe back in the old days(2014 and back), Express grading service was 5 days....correct me if I'm wrong.

that is hard core!
seems logic would dictate to give people the option to pay more and keep a decent turn-around time or go the long way for the usual price.
it is hard for me to believe they can't source some people from the forums to help to catch up. seems i recall A LOT of people anted up for the true view catch up a while back.
Imagine if you were taking a train from Orange county to anywhere called the orange blossom express and they told you it was going to take 25 days to reach your destination.
Maybe they should change the names of the tiers!
Crawlthough
Gastropod express
Not so regular
Economy stays the same but you have to send in designation of beneficiary forms with each submission.
What is walk-through?

Wow. No submissions for me at this time.
They need to shut down the tier for new Mint products until they catch up. And to think this only includes business days.
On the other hand, I guess this is good news for those who want to deter crack out artists and those who submit the same coin repeatedly hoping for a different result. There is more cost/opportunity cost for crack out artists. I guess this will create a huge backlog at CAC when these are churned out in large number.
I just sent two express (costly) and they came back reasonable time frame. I was dropping off some in Baltimore, guesss I ll have to step up to walkthru tier.
I'm already at 70 business days on a regular submission. I won't bug them about it though, since I don't want older coins relegated to whoever is forced to grade Marvel Superhero kipple.
I applied for a photo editing job a long time ago and still have not heard back one way or another, and have heard they still haven’t hired all they need for that position.
I’m taking a sabbatical renewing my collector club membership.
WalkThrough is just the next service level above Express. It allows declared values up to 100K and used to be estimated turn around time of 2 days. I don't see a time frame estimate on the new forms (or in the chart).

25 days for express is unacceptable. NGC is at 5 days.
I wondered when this would happen. Without exception every dealer I talk to is sending express becasue they can't wait three months for grades. PCGS needs to add a "Super Express" 5 days $120.00 a coin, and they will use it as well I'll bet. CAC is double or triple time from their regular turn arounds.. They could do the same.. Coin buying is getting spendy!
Pony Express.
12 days and still being scheduled for grading...
68 Business days, still in grading, Regular (Club voucher) submission of 4 coins

Modern value received 6/2, moved to encapsulation today. Hope it keeps moving!
Modern recieved 5/10, been stuck in QA forever (late last week).

I wonder what kind of material is being sent for grading that is causing an increasing backup. I wonder if it is just bullion coins or moderns in general or something else?
Yes. Particularly the first two genres, plus bulk subs from tv sellers gearing up ahead of holiday selling time... also a lot of guys slabbing and trying to cross or upgrade collector stuff ahead of fall shows and holiday season.
RIP Mom- 1932-2012
If I were to do any grading in the near future, it would only be at a show, and then only if the benefit was clearly worth it. Having coins out of my possession for two months just isn't OK.
Two months!?!! That's SO 2021!! My 4 coin Regular (Club) submissions have been out of my hands since late Feb. Since they are still in Grading, I'll still have another month or so before I see them once they reach Encapsulation based on the latest anecdotal evidence from this board. So, maybe I'll see them sometime in July??? It is starting to get beyond ridiculous!

Two months was my guess for express..... Yeah, regular is beyond reasonable. I guess if you have to have it, you have to wait. I just don't have to have it that badly.
I submitted an 8 coin collectors club submission at the Central States show using my voucher and it showed received as of 5/5. I'm now wondering if they will apply my voucher to the order as my membership expires in a couple weeks and still shows as 8 vouchers unredeemed. I'm hoping they use the date you submitted the coins and not when they actually grade them.
Your hobby is supposed to be your therapy, not the reason you need it.
My last express submission was received 3/11 and shipped 5/2……that would have exceeded the 25 days anyways….
Renamed hobble-through?
It's Putin's fault.
My two Express submissions earlier this year were ready well before the 15 day turnaround.

Wow, they must be getting swamped or southern CA still has restrictions. NGC is back to normal.
Yeah, I'm in the same boat with my planned (near) end of year submission, and figured that was the case - so long as it was post-marked before expiration. They're not out to cheat ya.
BTW - my membership renews in Feb, but for some reason I got an email about my vouchers recently ... perhaps just a reminder - I didnt use them on my previous sub.
Just used Express Service for grading a second time and got super fast turnaround.
PCGS received my coins on Wednesday August 24th, got grades today September 2nd.
That's seven business days.
Oh, just got an email from PCGS, my submission is shipping today.
Thank you, PCGS....can't ask for better service than that.
Glad to see PCGS is improving its service for the higher tier.
When you spend that kind of money, you expect better service, and it appears PCGS recognizes that.
Ooof - Regular is still 60 days (12 weeks, 3 months). Just sent my 8 vouchers in (Regular - Gold Shield, TVs). This order includes my Sis' Xmas gift - heh.
But my Mod Value order may be faster (40 days, 8 weeks, 2 months).
