I have a 1943 silver penny ! I looked online and it says it's silver and steel and it should stick to a magnet but when I put. a magnet on it. it does not stick to. it. so I don't understand what I have any help please!

ok thanks everyone yes def new here I ran into a bunch of old coins and didn't really know where to go to ask ? s ... so if I can't post pics for a couple days I will come back in a few days and post some pics .... I just don't understand if it's a steel zinc why won't it stick to a magnet that's what I couldn't figure out but anyway thanks for the reply s god bless
