Great Collections has a 1921 Mercury dime graded PCGS MS65FB

PTVETTERPTVETTER Posts: 5,981 ✭✭✭✭✭

The starting price is $5600.00
1) will it sell
2) if it sells what do you think the final price with buyers fee will be?

Looks to be a nice coin.

If you did a GTG based upon the GC images and the PCGS TV images then I would have guessed higher than MS65FB, so I will assume the coin goes for strong money.

I think it will sell for about $7500 or more.

Edit to add: Looks really nice for the grade with a CAC sticker.

I'm going to be contrarian, looking at other results, I think it doesn't sell.

Solid '21, like from me, and the bean helps greatly.

$5600 start is not nuts in this market.

Does it have a CAC sticker like the 31-S Merc in 66+FB I am selling at GC (listing will likely hit next week). ;)

    I would have guessed a 66 so I'm thinking 66 money.

It is a nice looking coin but with75 in this grade and 62 higher grade I think this will go at the last secounds for the opening bid

I have no idea what the final price will be.... Auctions can be wild experiences.... Be sure to post the final price here. Cheers, RickO

What I do know is that a 1921 Mercury dime in a pcgs holder graded MS65FB with a CAC sticked does not come on the market very often!

With the minimum 10% fee, the real starting price is $6,160. Still worth it for a coin that doesn't show up in this grade very often.

I had always thought that it was in poor form to comment on current auctions by knocking a coin as to whether it is priced too high or low or if it would not sell. I guess times have changed.

    Have a nice day

You have every right to your opinion!

It is okay to knock the coin and price unless it is one of the chosen few on the board. Then all hell is let loose on the person posting the negative reviews. At least that is what I have seen on the boards over the years. :D Its all entertaining to me.

    Here is the Trueview:

The coin appears original and properly graded IMO, but not worthy of 25% premium over PCGS Price Guide ($5k, which may be low). One sold at Heritage last February for $4,300 that I like a lot better, especially the strike on the reverse.

I paid much more that the PCGS price guide in a dealer to dealer deal.
to be honest I think in this case the price guide is way off!
And I have been in the Mercury Dime market for years?

I agree the Price Guide may be low which makes the Hertage coin from February a bargain!
