Received some coins back from PCGS today.

A total of 34 minor coins from 1965-1970 that are SP and Proof.
7 received a DCAM designation. 13 received a CAM designation. 14 did not receive either a CAM or a DCAM designation.
Below is a list of the coins and some comments.

Never heard of them! 😂 🤣

I could feign ignorance after I edited the title to this thread.
However, I:
a. freely acknowledge my failings (typing in this case and not proof reading before I hit "Post");
b. prostrate myself before you; and
c. humbly beg my "forum betters" for their forgiveness of my error.
Hopefully those who have had my typo inflicted upon them when reading the original title to this thread (before I edited same) will not suffer too much. Let me know if you are in need of outside professional help to heal any wounds [emotional or otherwise] you may have sustained

i am a worn-torn, battle-hardened typo-making, misspelling master, grammatical nightmare walking (and as such, see many of the ones others makes as well) so i am right at home in such an environment and that you acknowledge it, makes it all the easier to bask in the warmth of your typographical and erroneous posts/titles.
oh, nice results btw.
those kind of submissions hopefully makes it MUCH easier to try and figure out how they'll handle more significant $$$ coins when the time comes thus perhaps saving time, money, risk etc when it matters.
do you have plans to post say your favorites when the images are available? unless you went economy route as those savings add up on coins like these. (i really don't know the values of those off the top of my head)
Trueviews will be posted.
Eventually
The grade results set forth above, plus looking at the coins in hand, merely confirms an undeniable truth that I have suspected (actually known) for decades, namely:
The dividing line between a brilliant SMS or Proof and a CAM SMS or Proof; and/or the dividing line between a CAM SMS or Proof and a DCAM SMS or Proof was, is and likely will always be something that is not capable of being defined, illustrated, pinned down, ascertained or established to a degree that allows anyone in the hobby to credibly say anything other than:
"it depends on what the person(s) grading a coin opines at the time a coin is graded".
One of my customers calls PCGS pcsg all the time,
Don't feel bad @SanctionII. I go back and read (try and read) some of my posts. I can barely understand my own writing!! It's gotta be the dyslexia!!

Nice picks with all those DCAMs and CAMs!
I am looking forward to the frosty photos.

Shouldn't the 66 dime be SP.instead of PF?

It is also clearly within the realm of probability that the grader(s) at PCGS have seen more of these coins than any of us, have a better understanding of that "line of demarcation" between the various attributes, are detached emotionally from the coins they grade and are just more qualified to make determinations than we are. Put simply, when a submission's grades don't meet expectations we each need to look at the coins upon return and learn from our mistakes. Of course, you could climb into the squirrel cage and resubmit some of them but I believe you are smarter than that.
With all that said, the entirety of the submission looks like a loss even if this was an Economy level submission. I have found that the lower grades are almost impossible to sell for anything close to breaking even.
My electric utility supplier has company initials close to PCGS.
They have no issues cashing my checks when I quite often make them out to PCGS in error.
I wonder why Trueviews are delayed when the grades are posted, as the photos had to have been taken before encapsulation. Perhaps the backlog is the photo cropping and uploading process.
Yes. If it says proof I’m sure someone would pay a bonus for the neat mechanical error.
@SanctionII ... Overall, nice results - although, your 'suspected undeniable truth' is more like an obvious and undeniable fact. Without measurable, repeatable standards, this will always be so. Cheers, RickO
Maywood.
My 34 coin submission was not made with profit in mind.
Self education, hobby fun and having some eye appealing raw coins I have picked up over the years graded (some of which will be placed into Registry Sets) was behind the submission.
Comparing the PCGS opinions on these coins to my opinions on the same coins is an interesting exercise.
My grade opinions have been close to those of PCGS and at times have been low.
Our opinions on designations are also close, but not identical (i.e. I opine that a PCGS DCAM coin in the submission should not have received a DCAM designation; and I opine that a coin should have been designated a CAM and PCGS did not give it a CAM).
Nice DCAM cents.
Can you repeat that in English please
He said: "there are no standards", I think.
@TwoSides2aCoin - That works for me - Long day Yesterday, got home sitting on the couch reading along just fine till I got to Ricko's post and suddenly realized just how long my day was.
