Coinage, Currency, Medals, Tokens, Commemoratives etc and Curing Diseases

In light of monkey pox cases being reported, more so than usual and in regions it isn't known for appearing in (these days), I figured that I should do some basic research into it for various reasons and as usual I expanded into related illnesses vis-à-vis, small pox, only to have my guts ripped out seeing some of that footage but thankfully also having my mind blown for the simple yet extremely effective plan to eradicate it (eventually) and succeeding (vaccinate all around reported case areas but not everyone one in total), lets see some numismatics out there acknowledging the ones we've contained/cured and the many yet to be. In the age of C19, never in my numismatic journey has such a thread been more apropos.
Feel free to post USA coinage (seeing as how this is the US section) from your study/reading/conversations that has been affected in mintages, time frames, designs etc. Perhaps engravers, artists, directors etc that died during USA epidemics/outbreaks. (i recall early on my numismatic journey reading about just how much our numismatics have been greatly affected by diseases/infections)
Perhaps even mention (without political overtones please) any that have moved you in their scale/brutality. One that almost always comes to mind for me is African river blindness. (caused by doing basic daily necessities in/near water) Anthrax is another and is amazing (unfortunately) how widespread it can be.
Anyone have some of those leper colony ones?
How about anyone survive a terrible illness and decide to bucket list a major purchase(s)? If you care to share anyway. Just giving a wide berth to something that has greatly and forever affected the planet and most living things on it.

I had no idea such coins/tokens existed. Now knowing, I will certainly not collect them. Cheers, RickO

How about (partially but a great and important step) curing the disease of slavery?
