Pls don't tell me this is regarding the April Fool's article from last year.
Yeah, most likely the April Fool's article again. I have to admit that I initially fell for it, too. LOL. Now with all the inflation and such, it would be a good time to either drop the cent and nickel or have a new "dollar" that replaces the old one at a set ratio.
It was a joke, but it will probably be true very soon.
If they do and they most likely will soon inflation will increase even more because everything will be rounded up.

This will not happen in the foreseeable future. Though it has been discussed at high levels, there is way too much resistance from several areas. Cheers, RickO
Government has been talking about getting rid of cents since 1985 and it hasn't happened yet. They cannot get past their own red tape.

Read the story in Coin World not long ago and somewhere else. Not a concern or worry for me as pointed out above too much resistance from the powers that be that nothing is changing anytime soon.
