CAC Question,,,,,,,

In sending a registered package to CAC I recall getting an e-mail awhile back stating to mail them to their street address and not their PO Box,,,,,, is this correct?
If so anyone know their street address?
Thanks, Gary

I recall this for the express type. Not sure about the registered but think PO Box is still okay. Will try to double check but maybe someone already knows.
Edit:
Dear CAC Member:
We hope this E-mail finds you healthy and well. Effective immediately, we are requesting:
ALL Registered mail and Express mail packages sent to our office be mailed to our PHYSICAL address:
Thank you, and enjoy your weekend,

I have sent a recent CAC submission, and CAC confirmed for me by phone that they prefer that USPS registered mail be sent to their street address. The street address listed above is the address that I have been given. Apparently the volume of shipments sent to the CAC USPS P.O. Box got so large that USPS had challenges.
Yes, that is the e-mail I am referring to and my package will be registered so I guess it will go to the physical address.
As I recall the Post Office was complaining about the volume of packages going thru the Post Office.
Thanks,,,,,
If any updates PLMK as I need to close this package up to mail tomorrow before the June cut-off.
That is what I recall also but how would it be easier for a carrier to haul all these packages to CAC? They must get an armed escort due to the value of the packages? If not it would be very easy for a carrier to get robbed along the way,
That would be a major federal crime. How often do you hear of a mail truck being robbed en route?
Personally, I won't pay extra to have a grader graded. Nor would I buy a coin with a premium only to pay the addition premium for a sticker. Then again, I'm a coin collector. If I were looking to resell, then that would be another thing as some are fascinated with such things. To each their own.
Bank robbery is a major federal crime also. It happens all the time. I can't see much resistance in a mail carrier being solely responsible for delivering many thousands of dollars in registered packages. When a criminal figures out what is being carried on that mail truck I am just saying it would be a very easy target. No different than hitting a Brinks truck and would seem to me to be a whole lot easier.
I would be curious to know what additional security is involved in delivering these packages to CAC.
There are about 4000 bank robberies per year which is only 1.4% of all robberies.
There are only 250 postal robberies per year.

OK, so what is your point?
Just numbers
It's pretty rare
My point is that Registered Mail is supposed to be the most secure way to ship. I am sure that CAC gets tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in packages every day. Putting them on a USPS delivery truck doesn't sound very secure to me. I am sure that there must be additional security involved. I would just feel better if someone who knows could say that additional security measures are taken. My mail carrier is a young woman in her early 30's,,,,,,,, I don't think she is packing or would provide much protection for these packages.
I don't get much sleep when I send a package out registered mail. Too much going on out there. People are desperate and will do anything for a quick payday.

I recall JA stating that the local post office was voicing displeasure at either the volume of mail or the protocol because of the valuations.
Small town postmasters can be overwhelmed.
I would imagine that calling CAC directly would get you the fastest and most exact answer. I would rather have their opinion on where to ship my valuable assets to than those from a public forum.
Just thinking out loud on this…
Call the post office there and ask, Phone 908-234-0070. Also there's the possibility of checks, CC numbers and other financial info being in the packages.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to call CAC. I was getting the package ready to ship last night so I could mail it on my way home after work today. The deadline for mailing it is basically Saturday so I wanted to get it postmarked and on the way.
I shipped it to the street address.
Thanks for the help,,,,,
