Attention PCGS!

All, I know this listing is for World/Chinese coins…I am hoping PCGS can do something about this as it has the potential to seriously damage the hobby all together and alienate new/inexperienced collectors…The fake/counterfeit slabs appear very well done.

Not much that can be done other than get the listing removed from ebay and watch the seller.

It's really misleading and certainly people will buy it not understanding what they are buying but here is the description:

Maybe a good use case for adding NFT to the slab process. Someone can check the owner of the NFT, if the owner matches the seller, then it's a valid slab (unless the seller owns a fake and real version of the came cert number.

Unless the person sells their NFT to a NFT collector and keeps the real coin.

It's all about what the people want...

Maybe PCGS keeps ownership of the nft and the coin owner registers it. I'm sure there are many other issues with this that would need to be solved. I've bought at least one fake PCGS slab, I'm sure I'll come across more in the future, it won't take long for the counterfeiters to get better.

Not that I’m completely unaware of Chinese counterfeits, I find the scale of it to be very disturbing. I’ve found 3 counterfeit 1955 DDO’s in counterfeit PCGS holders on eBay and to me that was 3 too many.

What if PCGS bought these lots. Then after they received them determined that they were counterfeit and then went after the seller?

The issue is that the seller is in China, Short of convincing Ebay to ban all coin sales originating from China, I'm not sure what they can do…i was hoping to draw attention to the listing from PCGS and hopefully their legal team can find a solution…. If you look at the listing the holders are extremely convincing… i can imagine having that many bogus PCGS graded coins in the US market scaring off potential buyers and new/future collectors.

Maybe @burfle23 can at least help to get the listings removed from both accounts. ;)

The long arm of the law is not long enough to reach China.
Without help from the Chinese government there is little that can be done.
I have heard PCGS is trying to make efforts to stop the counterfeiters but it's a long hard road.

Don't speak nicely about NFT's. Next thing you're going to say is that you like CAC. Go troll somewhere else...

The NFT can carry ownership rights...

Unfortunately they are listed as copies.

This issue is not going away. It is growing day by day. At this point, it is up to collectors to know what they are buying and expose fakes when found. We, in the hobby, are the coin police. Cheers, RickO
