Looks natural to me. The proof sets of the 1960s had packaging that toned the nickels some pretty crazy colors like this one. There are a few theories as to why.
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but that is not a 43/2. There is a 43-P with a small die crack within the "3" that people mistake for a 43/2. That's what you have.

@BaronVonBaugh I bet that 1938 is overlooked next to that 1941, but I'd wager it's the rarer of the two. Details like that don't come around often, and the pictures look like they may be hiding some contrast? Stunning.

Yes the 1938 has nice contrast. I’m going to send the 1938-40 for regrade and TV. I’m sure I’ll have better pictures then and maybe a plus or two. Currently they are all in holders from before they started doing plus grading. They have been in my collection for years.
I really don't know how much. Maybe around $40-$50?
It all would depend on what person interested in it, I guess?
If I wanted to grade it by PCGS. It would cost at least, $65. Not gonna try.
Thanks

Nothing truly special, but these have been in the ANS collection since the year they were struck:

1988-P Jefferson nickel, ANS 1988.144.8
1988-D Jefferson nickel, ANS 1988.144.7
And, just for fun...not quite a nickel, but still portraying Jefferson

Here's a few colorful proofs.
Well it's almost a Jefferson Nickel. It tried to be anyway. 🤣
This coin was a gift from a close friend across the street. I find it very attractive.
Some nice steps in there!

I agree. 👌
Yep I didn't claim it as 43/2
Just a nickle pic 😉
