Went to a very small coin show today . . .

and I mean very small. I counted 8 dealers and one of those was a stamp dealer and one a currency dealer. In addition to buying some Forever stamps at less than 70% F.V. I did pick up one coin. This is the only Morgan I own and don't really know the value of a harshly cleaned holed Morgan goes for but what the heck . . .

Woof, she’s a dog!
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Might make a good keychain!
which just goes to show that there's a home for homely coins!
It's worth its weight in silver
I think it was at one point.

90% of it's weight.
I would gladly pay $15.18 for similar Morgans.

I may well I would pass on this one, but congrats on it getting a good home.

A coin show with 8 dealers? That is kind of quaint. Were you the only customer on the bourse floor? What it like a local coin club show at a VFW hall or something? Better than no coin show at all, I suppose.
Not a coin club. Regularly scheduled monthly show that has had 20 or so dealers at a time. I saw maybe 5 customers on the floor but it was early.

Well, obviously that Morgan 'called' to you.... can be a pocket piece or a key chain curio. When I lived in WA state, I tried to hit all the local coin shows - sometimes interesting things or good deals do show up. I recall one or two over the years that had only eight or ten dealers. Matter of fact, I got a great deal on a Morgan CC/O at one such show. Cheers, RickO

Lips look thick - is (or was) it a Hot Lips?
I thought this thread might be about trimes and half dimes. You know...very small coins.
That would be kinda fun.
Lance.
All US produced coins are still worth face value right? Of course pms are worth their weight.....And currency dealers will often pay at least face value on colonial notes.
Too bad it wasn't a scarface variety! Even at that low grade it could be seen.
