i had some links/images ready to post but after reviewing the 28-s inverted images compared to the non, i'm not sure i can post them now. will need to take some time to do some images comps, especially close-ups of the mm.

It seems there’s a fairly consistent die crack going off Liberty’s arm. There does appear to be a misattributed coin on CoinFacts however.

i did see 2 or 3 diagnostic cracks but didn't include them in my comp (which i was working on posting while i think you were making your post) but didn't include them as i think the mm issue here is enough to shed light on a rather large problem with these. (my opinion based on what i see is non of them show are inverted) imo.

I'm going to take your one of your coins from the first comparison you listed, not sure if the inverted coin is the same.
Here they are with the same crack:
Inverted:
Non-Inverted:
I think the non-inverted coin is not attributed although it is inverted. It's very interesting that the mintmark seems to have shifted though. There's definitely something going on with the attributions on these. There is also an attributed inverted coin with a die crack that matches none of the other attributed coins. Who knows what's up !
Even viewing the inv/non comparisons above, I am not sure if any are inverted.... Too early and I have to go to work... Will revisit later. Cheers, RickO

It appears to be, however a better picture of Liberty's outstretched hand and die crack will tell for sure.
On a side note, the plate coin for the 1928-S quarter is an unattributed Inverted Mintmark. A 67+ whopper.

now that i look closer. i think there are 3 different mm positions between the 2 pages with mixed dies on both pages.
