What I would like in my box of 20

moursundmoursund Posts: 3,207 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'm selling off most of my coin accumulation, and keeping my albums and my (2 coins so far) box of 20.
I have a couple of ideas of coins I would like (but may never afford) in my box of 20.

A stunning DCAM Morgan is one such..

Post an example of a coin type you dream of someday owning...

Well.... If I were to allow myself to dream, my dream would be just like @lermish... The gold, octagonal PanPac $50 coin. Cheers, RickO

I’m not going to go with a pipe dream coin I can’t afford at all, but with something that is still a dream coin for me - however - I could realistically buy one in the next few years if I saved up.

America’s first dime. This one graded Good-4 at NGC but is exceptionally nice for the grade. To be honest, I’d actually prefer raw over slabbed for one of these. Wouldn’t mind a 1797 Small Eagle as well.

"You can't get just one gun." "You can't get just one tattoo." "You can't get just one 1796 Draped Bust Large Cent."

I've said this before but I'd really love to have an obverse mm classic gold someday

That is always the question... I could "afford" to take a chunk of my roth IRA money, and sink it into coins. But prudent?
What does "afford" mean, anyway? Fits within an arbitrary and largely imaginary budget I set for myself?

This has been on my watchlist for some time... but if I'm dreaming I might as well slobber all over the pillow and hold out for an XF...
