I only ever found one 2009 nickel or dime while searching rolls (a 2009-D nickel).

You ever though of doing a run of these 2009’s as the original 1938-2004 nickel design? Maybe even proof or proof like?

I did several different Jefferson Nickels including 2004-W and 2005-W:

A "2009" with the original design would be technically possible, but I have a lot of other types that I haven't done yet, and I want to do those first.

I guess I better do some research. Have not focused on nickels.... Got a two quart jar full though, so maybe one or two 2009D's in there. Cheers, RickO

However you found these four, congrats! Earlier this year, I looked thru 150 rolls and found one (1) 2009-P and one (1) 2009-D, both AU at best.

Here's an interesting experiment. Go to eBay and try to find a single, BU (raw or slabbed) 2009-P or D, non-SMS auction/listing for the "exact coin you will receive". I did so and was shocked at how few of these are even available. Time will tell about their value/rarity, but currently, these are hard to find.

    Well done.

If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

When this mintage only represents Jan thru April production for both the Jeff and the Roosie's, it makes for a moreso limited production, but I think eventually the prices will come down as the mintage is not exactly small.
