1923 Peace GTG

CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 8,978 ✭✭✭✭✭

I fell for the oldest trick in the book! Kinda.
I knew what I was doing but did it anyway.
Me thinks 63 at best and no grade the worst.
Give it your best shot and maybe this will be a giveaway contest based on general consensus, arrives tomorrow...

A lot of dollars with this exact type image on ebay. Without way better pics, there is no way to tell other than saying it looks bu.

My first thought, with the contrast maxed out it shows the luster yet hides all the hits.
Now, I’m thinking it won’t even be the same coin and the purpose of the contrast was to mask the identity of the coin.

A seller who uses pictures like that has only one thing in mind and that is to deceive people into thinking a coin is better than it really is.
    My guess is no grade.

Guessing a grade for that coin would be like guessing the next Lotto numbers... Cheers, RickO

Will probably be closer to the lower end of that spectrum unfortunately.

Hard to tell anything from those pictures.

If the seller is a newby with low numbers of sales, you may be glad.
If the seller is a longtime seller with many sales, you will be sad.
    Toss up.

From those pics it looks chrome plated. Shinier than the chrome on my car.

If this is from bullion shark you will be disappointed!!
I returned one like that sometime back - the good news is that they readily refunded my money. The one I got had more hairlines than a rogaine commercial...

Kinda pointless to guess the grade of a stock photo. ;)

The seller has 18 sold listing and 1 active with that same photo. :D

Not completely pointless, you can't win the prize if you don't guess. And we'll have the new pic later this evening.

I guess this is what you call a BU example. Very lustrous but too many hits for a good grade.
I’ll just use it to start an every man set album.

I think you did extremely well having received this based on the sellers pics in the OP.

As gosh I honestly thought it was one of those dinky silver Franklin Mint miniature coins.

You can always ask the grading service to pedigree it as the "Apocalypse Now" collection.

I may have to go back and look at some of their inventory. There were some in aftermarket holders that looked pretty well.
