Claims its from his grandpa and while it does look polished it has the distinctive counterfeit hit on the upper left of the eagles breast.
More experienced collectors what are your thoughts? genuine or counterfeit?

Looks bad to me. If it ain't counterfeit it's been overly polished. I'd look elsewhere if you're considering buying the coin.
