A new purchase I'd like to share
I feel very fortunate to be able to add this 1928 buffalo nickel to my herd. It's a PCGS 66 but to my eyes I would probably grade it a bit higher. It has the strike and a certain look I can't resist along with the luster that's off the charts. To me it looks like it was struck with fresh dies as I don't see any stress on the surfaces.
Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome.
Happy hunting,

Love it!
Is that a scratch below the eye to the hair braid ? I see a faint double scratch near the center a sign of a staple scratch.
Lookin' good!
Much nicer than the sellers photos.
Did the other one arrive?
Beautiful, razor-sharp blazer!!!

Actually that is a straight line of toning. It happens sometimes.

Super gem!
I'd suspect that's a die crack in LIBE, but it doesn't extend to the rim, or does it?
Not a die crack. I think what you’re referring to is a combination of doubling and possibly some die chips in those letters when struck. I see some more die chips in the number 8.
Thanks
Dats Pretty!
Just the BEAUTY @crazyhounddog

That coin must have been one of the first coins to come off the new chromium plated dies that Chief Engraver John Sinnock tested on those SP 1927 Buffs found in his personal collection.
As a rule, the 1928 Buffalo Nickels from Philadelphia were not super great. The strike was a little light and they tended to show weak central details.
See. experience and knowledge go a long way in figuring out what to add to a collection.
Nice coin Joe!

There goes another great looking Buffalo that I will never be able to obtain. (sarcasm)
