Estate Sale in Review

I went to an Estate Sale this weekend where it was advertised as having 125+ Peace Dollars, 2 CC Morgans and other coins.
When I got to the case of coins the Peace dollars looked to be XF to maybe Unc and they were priced at $38 each which is way too much so i looked for the CC Morgans. One was in a SEGS VF slab and it had a big scratch across the face so no good on that one, the other was mounted on a card probably from franklin mint or someone like that and I was not sure if it was real so no good on that one.
There were a lot of Kennedys and Franklins in SCGS slabs that didnt interest me
While the other buyers were looking at the Peace dollars I turned to the Ike Dollars that were slabed.
Only one was in a PCGS slab and I bought it. I also bought Ikes in ICG slabs, ACG slab, and one in a INB certified slab which I never heard of before.
Now for the good stuff I bought a set of 1971-1974 Silver Ikes in government hard plastic cases that are certified by NGC as PF 68 Ultra Cameo for $21 each
I made an offer on the 100+ peace dollars of $29 each and the came down to $32.50 each but that was too much so no deal
Here are some pictures and please comment on the slabs especially the INB and ACG ones
Thanks

Without taking much more than a glance, I'll bet that this one is vastly undergraded.
Some of those peace could have been better dates
Outdated but...

Thanks for info on slab

Sounds typical. I think you picked out the good stuff pretty quickly.
The enormous quantity of shtuff that’s “out there” makes it hard to find the diamonds in the rough. I’d have left the sellers a phone number so when the try to liquidate the Peace dollars you can make another offer.
That is a surprising quantity of coins at an estate sale.... The ones I have attended never had such a large quantity or such an assortment of coins. Some of those look really good. Cheers, RickO
That certainly isn't what you find at " estate " sales here in central Florida.

I know one estate sale company in the Denver area has a case of their own coins that they take to all the estate sales that they run. The purpose is to add a little bit of clout to the sale, and also to sell some coins at retail prices. I've seen the same case of coins (with the contents changed slightly) shown in pictures for different estate sales all over town and over the past couple years. The case of coins shown in this thread looks surprisingly like the Denver sales. So I wouldn't be surprised if the estate sale company actually owns those and they are not part of the actual estate.
Smart, never crossed my mind. Thanks!

Here in my area (central NC), I am firmly convinced that the estate sale companies know full well what they have to sell and bargains will be sparse. I think one of them gives a coin dealer first shot at the coins and they scoop up the valuable ones. Others know where to look for internet prices and mark them up from there. And, as DCarr has mentioned, they salt in some of their own coin inventory to enhance the display.

Since I live in a retirement community estate sales are common. We have stopped going; anything "old" is priced as a valuable antique, and anything newer is priced at 80 - 90% of retail. These estate sellers are tasked with squeezing every possible penny out of a sale, so there are no "steals".
I think you did well. You selected really nice coins. You bought the coin not the holder. Congrats and thanks following through with your experience. Peace Roy
