Have you been the first to submit a new type?

I've had two recent bullion submissions and a Canadian commemorative that would (apparently?) typically go to NGC but I sent to PCGS and they had to create a new PCGS#. Does anyone have anything interesting that required a new PCGS#?
Yes, these are world coins but that's the easy way to get a new number...older US stuff is more interesting and a lot more challenging than these very new widgets.

No, I have never done that..... That is a really nice coin though.... It seems the platinum coins (talking U.S. Mint specifically - but Canada seems to be doing it as well) have excellent art/designs and presentation. Cheers, RickO
Yes. The first 1971-S IKE Prototype Coin.

Yes - some rare colonials back in the early days of PCGS grading them.
