I love these issues and I like the way yours isn't exactly bright and spiffy, but instead has a bit of a skin.
what tool are you using to assess the metal? Also are you using it while the coin is slabbed or did you crack it out?

Thanks! I agree, the surface played a part in my decision. Many ancients are all cleaned up and I like that this appears not to be.

Honestly, I don’t recall the name of the machine, my friend owns it and it’s an x-ray XRF machine.
And no, it’s in the slab, we scanned it through the plastic.
