Who else carries expensive coins as pocket pieces?

Almost daily, I carry my Struck-thru 2021 Peace Dollar, or my Daniel Carr Broken Sword variety MCMXXI blue toned peace Dollar (valued at about $250)... Anyone else carry expensive coins as pocket pieces? Or am I living too dangerously?

I'd love to carry a double eagle but I'd probably lose it.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
Meh, I travel light.
Never. I'd be to paranoid of losing it. Only time I have expensive coins on me is when I am at a coin show with security present and even then, I'm antsy.

Why carry an expensive coin in a pocket? Eventually the pocket material will polish the coin and it will no longer be expensive!

I carry an impaired 1874 cc $20 from time to time. It has little value over melt, and the occasional wear would likely help more than hurt.
I do not carry any expensive coins... Just regular pocket change - normally start off the day with 3 quarters, 3 nickels, 3 dimes and 4 cents. Usually end up the day with more coins than I started with - because I often forget I could make exact change... well, sometimes I do not forget, just want to get quarters to continue my search for a W.
Cheers, RickO
This was a high grade DC piece I bought in 2017, about 4 years in the pocket.
.

I carried a double eagle for a very short time. I decided it was not worth the risk and stuck with a common Peace Dollar.

I hate having things in my pockets, so no. My wife holed a dime for our tenth anniversary and I keep it on my keychain…but I even keep my keys out of my pocket as much as possible.
I’ve thought about keeping some coins I like in my work bag but haven’t done it yet.
I used to carry CC dollars but I did end up losing them every now and then. The last was a 79cc lost in the seat of a flight home. Of course the airline didn't find it and it was not turned into lost and found. That was the end of that.

I know of four guys (golfers) who use ten dollar gold Indians as ball markers/pocket pieces . They were all AU ( cracked out one) to fill the order. That's expensive ball markers. Thanks for the biz, TDN.
I carry a 1854 cent with me that I purchased for $25 from a coin shop. It's one of those brothel coins with the E in cent modified to "U"
It's an interesting history piece. I'm always worried about losing it though!
I once carried a 1964 Type C Washington in my pocket but accidentally spent it. DOH!
The name is LEE!
I carried this one in my pocket in an airtight to all coin shows I attended until it was certified genuine and NGC top POP...
I used to carry a pocket piece, but I ended up losing both of them... :-/
The first was a 1972 Ike Dollar that I was hoping to wear down to P01, and the other was an 1819 LC in an aluminum holder from Butternut. Neither were expensive, both were missed.
Bottom line...
I don't carry pocket pieces any more because I can't trust myself not to lose them!

I carried a sovereign until I lost it. Now I just carry a silver round.
I’ve lost several Morgan Dollar pocket pieces. Now I carry a Chinese counterfeit 1888-S.
Here are my 3 pocket pieces. In BU the eagles are worth $40ish and the Peace dollar $200ish. Obviously they're worth more in lower grades but I'm curious as to how the T2 and 2021 peace dollar will be treated if they ever go to auction. Been carrying the 2007 since 2018, 2021 since August '21, and the peace since October '21.

@Bullsitter why would you use a high grade Dan Carr Peace instead of a regular Peace dollar? It looks nicely worn, but many cheaper options that you could have used.
@YoloBagels How on earth did that 2021 Peace get so worn in 9 months? Looks like many years of wear?
EDIT- I will keep my 2017 Peace in pristine condition. It looks amazing and D.Carr does incredible work.

Yeah, but I like the 1917 date and I like the Broken Sword Reverse, it was the first year for them. I had 5 of these and chose this one for a pocket piece. There are 1,000+ circulated Peace dollars on ebay today and no DC 1917 Peace dollars, so I like the uniqueness. I'll have it graded at some point. I'd like to get it to F15-VF25.
@Bullsitter At least it is wearing down very nicely.

For this years Myrtle Beach golf trip I took my 2021 ASE silver bullion to use as a ball marker on the green.
Mine are wallet pieces and not overly valuable. 1859-S half dollar and 1876-CC dime, both PO-01 contenders. Authentic Old West / cowboy coins, though.
