I have never purchased a 'bag' of halves (or any bag) from the mint. The only roll sets I ever purchased from the mint were the Sacagawea's when first issued. I have not opened the rolls since once I do, the 'mystery' will go away and likely nothing special within. I do not really have the time for bag or extensive roll searching.... maybe when I get old (or much older ) I will have more spare time. Cheers, RickO
Has anyone ever compared the condition of coins in US mint bags vs rolls? Do coins survive better in one vs the other? I would guess that rolls would be better/safer but I have nothing to back that up.

Got mine today, 2 2-roll sets. The P roll had a few that might go MS67. The D rolls are beat up.
I'm getting my bag from the PO tomorrow. It's always interesting to see what kind of quality there is.
