That I found this beaut, IN CIRCULATION.... Well, not entirely me... You see, when I worked at McDonald's, my boss found it in one of the change tills... I offered her $10 and it became mine!!!

Cool, looks like it's been around the block a few times.

That's a great pick-up but that coin is in serious need of a dip. :#

Always sweet to find something like this circulating. To get a better picture, move it a little further from the Kindle. I know you want to get it as close as possible for a bigger shot of it, but set it down and move higher above it!

I'd still weigh it and do a magnet test just to be sure it's not from you know where. Peace Roy

    .
imo, it isn't a far stretch that someone could find something like this in a register paid by a customer. money is money. what boggles my mind is that someone actually accepted it as $1 but left it in the register and didn't but it themselves. so they "knew" it was a $1 but NOT that it was 90%? man, 7 billion people make for virtually every variance in all situations possible somewhere. i could also see someone getting nailed by counterfeits in a situation like this and judging by the obv alone, i thought it probably way (bad pics) but the dirt/wear on the obv and rev both would make that instance unlikely.

    nice find. :)

having something like that from even the past 20 years, found from a register makes it worth so much more than just the silver/numismatic value. a great pocket/conversation piece. :+1:

I dipped it and it did absolutely nothing... I later thought, why mess with it? With age comes beauty, and she's definitely aged, why remove it? ;)

Did you try E-Z-Est or Tarnx? Acetone wouldn't work with those stains. Carrying it as a cool pocket piece would improve its appearance. Nothing to lose trying it.

Funny enough, it is my pocket piece... I don't have these chemicals sadly though

I'd love to see pics after 6 months, one year, etc. Are you carrying it with other coins? Sounds like a fun experiment.

What's more amazing is that a cashier (presumably) accepted the coin as payment. I struggle spending $1 presidential and half dollars.

I have gotten silver quarters and half’s in change before. but never a dollar - that’s a great find.
Seems you should have been able to just pay a dollar for it in the register and it would have closed out.
