Yeah, they would never want anything "strong for the grade."

I enjoy finding them, getting them slabbed, and selling them. As part of a grading set, they can also be interesting.

    Apart from that, no thanks.

I believe there are lowball registry sets and the PO1 grade is lowest, probably has bonus points.

IMO... not deserving of PO-01 based on remaining detail. Looks sharper than the FR-02 on Photograde.

Either way... some types are interesting when they come as lowballs. This is a Barber Dime. These were circulation workhorses. I see coins like this in junk silver bins on a regular basis.

What a "slick" purchase :). Not my cup of tea by the way.

Not a coin that I would be interested in owning. I am not a fan of low grade coins. I know there is a collector segment that feels strongly about these coins, that is great for those collectors. Cheers, RickO

I think they are interesting and I also think it's really cool to see people enjoy collecting in other ways than the "normal" way. Their money, they can spend it however they see fit and enjoy the hobby how they like. Heck, even I collect only circulated coins.

If you buy to sell and feel it will profit you, why not? As to collecting, who can fathom what another may hold dear?

i agree with the too high of a grade for a 1 and also, premiums for pr1 (imo) should be nuanced to how difficult it is to get a specific type into a 1 holder. barber dimes are probably one of the last when i think of difficulty (quarters and halves as well) unless some weird nuance exists around having enough of a date AND mm (which some series have difficulties having both) in such low grade. i've handled so many barber coinage i recall many occasions where they were so flat its like the grime and suction keeps them sealed to each other and some fingernail pressure helps to break this bond. my 2c

The PCGS price guide shows a value of $4. :)

But as others have said, to each his own.
