Collage of the Capped bust halves that were in the Wayte Raymond holder

Recently I posted my recently acquired Capped bust set in the Wayte Raymond holder. Finally had a chance to photograph each of them individually and put them in a collage below. Overall, a very delightful set!

There are some sweethearts in there for sure!
I'm sure I won't be the last to say that the 25 is a stunner..

Purchased from David Kahn? I looked at this at the Fun show in January. Sweet.

Actually no, it was from someone on Instagram. Maybe it jumped around a bit before it got me. Here's the reverse of the 1829 half, it really pops when tilted into the light:

Nice old group of silver half dollars. I never collected them, but enjoyed handling a few at shows years ago. Cheers, RickO

Cool how the sulfur in the WR holders can turn lightly cleaned coins into market acceptable.

It’s definitely the same one. Glad to see it again. Have fun with it. Do you plan on sending them in to our host?

@Pnies20 I plan to leave it as is. That holder adds a lot of character. From what I heard, this set has been in this holder for decades, not sure if you heard any more backstory on it.

I didn’t. David just told me that it had been in a safe like that for decades along with some other coins and the family decided it was time to sell.

Was 🤏🏻 This close to buying it but decided not to.
