"Determining the type of reverse requires a look at the eagle's breast. If the breast is flat, it's a Reverse of 1878; if the breast is rounded, it's a Reverse of 1879. It's worth a look because the 7TF Reverse of 1879 is half as common (or twice as scarce) as the 7TF Reverse of 1878"

There's so much fun to be had with the varieties of '78 and '79.
When I was a kid, I was scrounging up 1879 s reverse of '78 Morgans. After many years, I had accumulated a half roll of circs before I lost interest. It was fun always looking......

That is a reverse of 79 yes. Can't see obverse so can't quite tell ya about the rest lol.

And you can say this because of the eagles breast?
Kinda? I mostly just look at the top arrow feather.

But couldn't it have 7 feathers and be a reverse of 78?
Not the eagles tailfeathers, the feather of the top arrow. Look where the red arrows point at in the picture I linked.
