I enjoy sharing with CU, I haven’t done one in a while they’re fun to do and to follow along with and it’s always fun to hear some comments and/or guesses. Don’t need to worry about my feelings - test yourself and do it for your own benefit. Now, I t’s still pretty expensive (to me) so despite winning 20 vouchers I used only ten of them. Nothing here is going to let me retire; just some nice looking vintage baseball cards…
Wish me luck! They should be in Newport Beach already…

hey 51Wheaties,
I'm liking your 64 Mick, Pretty cool...
Nice bunch of cards…some were well loved but will all look great slabbed for sure. Similar to a whole bunch of mantles and hof’s I had graded in the year or 2 before the avalanche when there were still $10-12 deals now and then. Don’t think I’d send as many of mine in as I did at current prices, so I’m glad I subbed them when I did.
Look forward to seeing your grades, esp on the mantles, you have a couple of sharp ones there.

Some nice cards!
The left front border on the 53 Jackie looks too perfect!
The card is very beautiful and very miscut. A very tough one to grade. I’m sure whatever they decide will be correct - part of the reason I pay for their opinion because I actually value it.
But it just leaps out at you, doesn’t it?

Thank you. It’s got flaws but it’s very pleasing to the eye.

I have some hopes for the 1960 but I’m not expecting anything very high grade. The ‘56 is a definite 1 but it’s still got some appeal and I know it will have more in a slab.

How did the Koufax manage to avoid the Stain qualifier????
Grades seem pretty fair. Congrats on a great sub!
Can you please fill in the details? Sorry but it makes for a tough read and we are lazy.

I'm not a big Mantle collector, but I buy raw Mantles whenever I come across them and have them graded. No matter what grade I get, they all sell. He is the American Eagle Gold Coin of our hobby.
The Robinson looks better than a 5. When I first looked at it, I thought you had a chance for a 7. You will be able to sell that one with ease. And of course, mantle is mantle.
Woot! Thank you for the scans. I am always interested in how people do in the lower quality, raw market!
Do you happen to know how much do pens marks retract from a grade? I recently bought a collection and it has an older Mays in poor quality with pens marks. I will scan shortly.

Of course, man!
We’re all here for the cards and I like to share…

I had a Gretzky card with a gum stain on back--no qualifier, just graded lower
Gretzky,Ripken, and Sandberg collection. Still trying to complete 1975 Topps baseball set from when I was a kid.
Sorry, I didn’t see this comment or I’d have responded sooner!!!
About a year ago, PSA decided to dump qualifiers with the exception of MK and M/C, I believe, and instead factoring it in to the overall grade assigned to the card.
While I think that’s a good idea, I’m sure opinions vary. I usually requested ‘No Qualifiers’ to begin with so I thought it a welcomed change.

These are for my registry sets/collection, as of now. Perhaps some decisions get made down the line but for now I’m just planning on enjoying them.
Thank you both for the kind words and for taking the time!
@olb31 - thank you. I am still so glad you shared your knowledge and that I listened to when you opined on OPC Star cards over these man years, I don’t think I’d be able to afford either of these at this point…

No problem. These boards, in my opinion, are to share pics, stories and info to help enjoy the hobby or investing that each of us do.
There is still an OC (off center) qualifier. I had several hockey cards come back with the stipulation.

I've enjoyed following your thread, especially with the photos. I think they were a bit tough on the PSA 2 '62 and PSA 4 '64 Mantles. But a nice addition to your collection, I'm sure.
Enjoy!
Thanks!
If you zoom in on the raw scan of the 64, there’s a ripple by A and N in Yankees and a notch right of his shoulder on the right edge.
Maybe a grade higher on the ‘62 that got a two but the centering is just outside what they consider acceptable.
Overall, I think the grades are correct. That said, I’m one likes the cards look over it’s grade anyway…
