Gettysburg Show Report 4/16/22

The Spring National Battlefield Coin Show™ was held April 14-16 with Thursday being dealer setup and early birds. Everything was selling, from wheat cents through classic proof gold! Most dealers said their sales exceeded their expectations with several saying it was the best show they ever had. Two dealers said they did not do well. One had niche products with a narrow market and the other, in my opinion, did VERY well for the merchandise he had. Attendance for the three days approached 1000. I have not made the final count.
There were no security issues. When dealers started to leave, there were two uniformed security guards outside and one plain clothes inside. I started to take pictures of the outside guards, but did not want to put them on display.
I bought a beautiful 1888 Proof 3c nickel PCGS PF64 from Robbie (shortgapbob) at Reeded Edge, an ND 1c Washington Double Headed W-11200 in ANACS F15 from Nanson Numismatics, an 1892 PCGS PR63+ Cameo Barber half dollar from Ron Mir at Liberty Numismatics, a frosty white 1945 D Gem BU Walking Liberty Half dollar from Douggin Collectibles, a Maria Theresa Thaler from a dealer I forgot his name, (5) 1967 SMS sets and (5) Brown Ikes (which I didn't want, but couldn't pass up the price) from Bach's Coin Box and a 1986 and 1987 Proof Set (for gifts) from Ed Sollenberger.
Overall, a very successful show.
