Coin collectors are well familiar with the designers of the series of coins they pursue.
Exonumismatist like myself tend to buy a piece based on its design, subject matter, or material. Designers are researched, in my case, after procurement.
Even once in a while, familiar initials show up on something I bought.
This medal, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, is exactly one of those finds.
