Have you seen mechanical doubling this bad?

I've never seen mechanical doubling this bad. Is it caused by a worn or loose die? Got me excited for a minute. Coin has some kind of Chemical treatment on it, I assume to make it shine. Shame as it is interesting.

Are you talking about E PLURIBUS UNUM? That is not machine doubling. That is die erosion doubling. I have a few 1922-D cents from this and similar dies.

It is difficult to see the issue clearly in those pictures... So thanks to @CaptHenway for the fast determination. Cheers, RickO
