Easter Eggs and Collectible Coins

My church is hosting an egg hunt this Saturday. Figuring that there will be plenty of candy to satisfy the kids, my wife and I decided to do something a little different. We have filled 100 plastic eggs with several coins in each such as Buffalo Nickels, steel cents and foreign coins. There are even some V nickels, Indian cents and Mercury dimes. Maybe we can jump start a few young collectors. I just wanted to put this idea out there should any of you want to do something similar.

Where did you say this Easter egg hunt is being held?

Awesome idea. Thanks for promoting the hobby,

That’s really cool. We went to all toys/stickers in our eggs due to allergies and not wanting to sugar the kids up before the service.
Maybe next year I’ll sneak some coins in there.
An Easter egg hunt with coins and candy is an awesome idea! I used to give out a few lower grade IHC's and Buffalo nickels at Halloween some years ago, but the neighborhood I'm in now doesn't seem to do trick-or-treat...

@MarkKelley .... That is a great idea.... If I knew where you are doing this (and if it were close), I would join the hunt.... Eating candy and finding coins are great fun.
Cheers, RickO
You'll be able to find most of the coins in circulation a few days after the hunt.

The wife and I will probably sweep the field with our metal detectors afterward.
Uh, good idea but my son would probably dump his out looking for some lil bit of candy at the bottom (leaving dad to search for the coins)...
These kids are something else...
Well, just Love coins, period.
