Selling it all - again

We bought some property out in the woods of Idaho, and it will need a road and power before we can do anything with it, so hobby stuff was the first thing I decided to let go of. The goal will be to eventually build a house and move out there full time. Closest post office is St. Maries which is about 45 minutes from Coeur D'Alene. This has been a dream of mine for about 15 years now, since I first visited a really good friend who had moved there.

I had a lot of nice coins which I was proud to own, but I tend to not grow too attached to inanimate objects so it was not a difficult choice for me to make. I have a collector car that will be the next thing to go but needs some mechanical attention first - but the weather hasn't real friendly here lately for that.

This will be the 3rd time I've stopped (paused?) but by far this stint was the most fun I've had collecting, not to mention the most I have learned, and also managed to make a few friends along the way. There are a few sentimental pieces I'll hang onto and the rest is low value aka "junk box stuff". I still have my Lincoln cent albums I started from grandpa's collection - and he's been gone since 1984.

Most of my walkers are up on greatcollections now, and the buff date from 13-31 will be up soon.

Good for you and Idaho is beautiful. I've considered it myself recently, but not Idaho....further east. Money well spent!

It’s nice that you and your family will be relocating in a state you all want to live in. I’ve got to say you picked a beautiful spot. I wish you all the best this world has to offer my good friend.

@clarkbar04 good luck to you in your sale
Roads and power get costly real fast.
Bought a piece of property that look a lot like yours. Only thing on what we bought was a set of corrals. Put in 500 feet of drive
Way and RV pad last year this year the 400amp power goes in. I keep telling
Myself it’s just money. I just can’t bring
    Myself to sell the stash

    Good luck with the
Project. If your like me being there is tranquil

Hey Clarkbar. Remember talking to you a lot a couple years back and you taught me a ton about Buffalo Nickels and such. I'll just say, I haven't forgotten. Congrats on your move to a truly beautiful spot and hope everything goes well.

Now if only I'd get around to finally submitting some of my cherrypicks to PCGS... ;)

Very cool, it is doing what we all want out of are collection. To be able to sell part or all of it and buy something with it if needed and it can help you when you need it to, I’m doing the same thing as well.

congratulations on your move hope all goes smoothly and be safe out there.

Go for it as when you start to collect again, you'll be able to rebuild better, stronger, faster.

Being in this hobby now for 46 years I can state I have never had a monthly car payment in my entire life. I've bought multiple vehicles over the years new or used cash just by letting a couple items in my collection go, I wouldn't miss. I've also did the same with the down payment on 2 properties.

Wildland firefighting over the years has taken me to most of our western states. My favorite ? Yup, Idaho. Coeur D'Alene itself is so beautiful with the mountains sloping right down into the lake. I envy you sir. When you build make sure you take into account wildfires. I've seen people who have lost it all because of lack of precautions.

Hopefully your not another Californian! Idaho will very soon be completely destroyed by that cancer!

I just now realized I posted this in the BST which was not my intention. I think it got moved here which is strange since i'm not promoting my sales in this post.
@Omegaraptor if you have a few to submit feel free to send a few my way - i'm not completely leaving the hobby.
