Questionable 1916 D? "Mercury" dime. Edit NOT a D confirmed

I was asked to look into this coin, however, I have doubts and defer to the experts here. After basic research, comparing what has been interpreted as the mint mark to known reverse dies I think it is not a D.
What is your opinion

I don't think it's a D, but if the graders can't see any trace of a mintmark they'll never call it a 1916-D, so I think its safe to say it's not a 1916-D or will never get a 1916-D price.
Coin Photographer.
Don’t see a mint mark remnant, my guess it’s a P mint
This is an FR02 from CoinFacts even an FR02 will show the mint mark.

Not a D mint coin.
No D.

Nope.
thankfully pcgs puts low grade examples on CF for us to use as comps.
someone COULD put a mm position image together for the fr2 to g4 range. i MAY do this one just because it is so relevant. so relevant of course, i haven't seen one done yet, after all this time.lol
Looks like a Philly to me, jmo
No mint mark on that dime.... Good post with the FR02 comparison.... Cheers, RickO

I think I see what someone thought was a D.
Looks like an old ding that was worn down.
I’m too distracted by the schmutz on the edge of the cardboard to see the coin. Is something growing on that 2x2?
