Is this monster toner worth the price?

Nice pink and greens not usually seen on a peace dollar and already slabbed.
However its going for double what it recently sold at auction. Do y'all think its worth the 995 price? or if not what do you think the fair market value is for this one?

The answer you get will depend on who you ask.
I've bought plenty of coins on eBay at auction and resold for double what I paid. Is this dollar like that? Who knows?
Not to me, maybe it is for some.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Not to me.
If you love it, go for it.

No. Now let's take a look at the coin... yes that's what I thought. I'm sure somebody likes this kind of toning, but not for me.
You have to remember you’d be paying nearly DOUBLE what everyone else who saw the coin on eBay, and that’s a lot of people, were willing to pay.
That’s a lot, IMO. but if it’s something you love and it’s not going anywhere for a long time, then it’s your call!
BHNC #248 … 130 and counting.
I bet he wasn’t even considering it.

Probably the most ugly toning on a Peace dollar I’ve ever seen. So my vote is a resounding NO🤢
As scarce as nicely toned Peace Dollars are, that's high. I would think $4-500, but that's just me.
Nice colors, but far too mottled and broken up. I'm a bit surprised with the original auction's close, but wonder if the poor photo had some buyers guessing/hoping about what could be there. Either way, I wouldn't have paid the original price, and certainly wouldn't pay the current price. Easy for me to say... I've got one that's way nicer.
Fugly ND pass, to bad cause of the free shipping

You need to get out (much) more.😉

I wouldn't pay that. I think the toning is neutral. The color is fine, I'm just not a fan of the many breaks in the toning.
It’s not a coin that would tempt me.

Not even after a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon.... No way, no how... never. Cheers, RickO
Not a monster by any means... Just a nicely toned peace dollar. I could see it getting ~$300 on GC (which is one of the best places to sell a coin like this IMO)

Nicely toned Peace dollars are hard to find. Key word ... 'nicely'. This one really doesn't do it for me.

I sold a PCGS 1923 MS63 that I liked better than that one...mind had nice luster pop....to a customer at our local coin show this weekend....for $350.
I had it priced at $500 as I was contemplating keeping it, but he is a collector and will enjoy it, so I discounted it for him.
The one in the OP....I wouldn't go above $300.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
I sold an uglier one this weekend! LOL
XF40 with ugly toning. PCGS. Of course, I didn't charge too much...unlike that ebay auction above.
