1925 Peace Dollar Clipped Planchet?

I picked up this 1925 Peace Dollar clipped planchet today at the GNA Show, from a reputable dealer. He actually teaches and works with FBI on identifying counterfeit coinage, so I have no reason to assume it's not legit. Looking at it closer now that I am back home, I am having doubts. Opinions?

Flippin scoundrels! Scandalous sons of motherless goats! I knew I should have looked at it better at the show. I flippin know better too! I have half a mind to drive back there tomorrow and make a big dang scene at his booth! The dawggone nerve of some people! Really chaps my hide. More me not paying attention than anything else. 😒
"sons of motherless goats!"
Better yet don't...... we don't want to see ya get banned.
I agree with PMD... I would take it back. Confront those "Scandalous sons of motherless goats!". No Blakesley effect evident. Take a copy of this thread. Cheers, RickO
No metal flow
No Blackesley Effect
No “cut and tear” marks on the inside portion of the clip area
Three strikes – it’s out!
He didn't say any POOFable words. Ranting about liars and cheaters and bears (OH MY!) is allowed here.

Definitely government file or grinder damage! Peace Roy

be sure to tell the dealer that it was "the people on the internet" that said it wasn't a legit mint error!
in all honesty, while we want to trust the other person knows what they are doing (generally not a good idea w/o doing some of our own legwork) in this world, especially tough c19 times, it is "caveat emptor" to the fullest.
if the dealer offers up a refund with little to no resistance, i wouldn't hammer them too hard. if they play hardball, i know i personally wouldn't get into a shouting match, in 10+ years, i have NEVER encountered a situation where i'd do that in a shop or a bourse, i have on a rare occasion, resulted to minor witty/sartastic insults geared toward emphasizing a point but at the same time not completely ruining a relationship; if it isn't a lot of money (to me), i can also just let it go completely if a refund won't be honored. they would almost certainly just lose my business unless they have other stuff i can make it up on. that is my favorite way of evening out the playing field. just pick someone till i 5x or more what i lost. not difficult to do if you work hard enough.
