Updated with fresh grades and commentary - Large Cent Guys- I'm getting anxious.....

For these grades to pop.
Submitted at Winter FUN, my submission is now in QA, so the grades should be popping any day now.
I admit I will probably have sweaty palms when I finally get the notification that the grades have posted!
Here are the coins I submitted raw, and these my estimated min grades I'm hoping for:
Looks like it won't display in two wide columns, even though it looks that way in edit mode.
My estimates are the first grade in each row.
PCGS Grade
1793 Wreath 1C Lettered edge, G 4 G06BN
1793 Wreath 1C Vine & Bars edge Genuine Fine details 86 (Authenticity Unverifiable)
1808 1C VF 20 F15BN
1839/6 1C VF 20 VF25BN
1823/2 1C VF 20 VF20BN
1829 1C AU55 Genuine AU Details (98 - Damage)
1852 1C MS 63 AU58BN
1818 1C AU 58 AU58BN
Overall I'm Ok with the results.
The lettered edge wreath cent was a pleasant surprise. I cracked this out of a Genuine-Environment Damage holder that I picked up a few years ago at FUN at a very reasonable price. I looked at a LOT of low grade wreath cents before selecting this one. I performed some very careful conservation with the old Blue Ribbon, removing the crud they apparently didn't like from the previous submitter. I felt pretty confident of a straight grade, and am thrilled it got G06, as it's a big price spread coin.
Surprised they couldn't verify the authenticity of the other wreath cent. The obverse had been tooled to remove scratches, the reverse was original and pristine. I'm 90+% confident it's genuine.
The 1808 is a little lightly struck on the obverse, but I thought the reverse detail would carry it to VF20. I'm in it for <Fine money, so I'm Ok with the result.
The 39/6 is a win for sure. Frankly I thought it would VF20 and the 23/2 would be 25 (or higher). But it's a big price spread coin that gets real scarce at the VF level, so it worked out just fine! The 23/2 is also Ok as a VF, as I bought it as a Fine from a wholesaler at a show many years ago.
The 1829 is a surprise. I only recall a very tiny rim ding on the reverse, and otherwise the coin looks choice. I'll have to look closely when it gets back.
Surprised the 1852 didn't MS-something. It's sharp and retains luster. But I did buy it as an AU, so no loss.
1818 was right on the money. Being a Randall hoard coin, it's likely not really circulated, but a bit of "cabinet friction",
probably from the original keg, kept it from MS.

I hope you're right. It will be pretty impressive if only one of them gets a details grade. Good luck.
Please post pics of the 1793 coins!😎
@Walkerguy21D... Best of luck with the grades. Hope you get some bumps up. Cheers, RickO
oh man, now we will help you carry the load!
i love a good gtg with estimated grades in advance.
I know, really sticking my neck out!
Looking forward to seeing the TVs. It will be fun to see how your predictions compare to the results!

Good luck fingers crossed!
FYI - updates in first post
If the graders were only 90%+ sure it was genuine, they'd never certify it as such. They'll always err on the side of caution.
Pretty good results overall, I'd say.
Not bad. Kudos to you for putting yourself out there!

gratz on getting the results and being pretty much spot-on! looks like a fun group of coppers.
Congrats on the '93 Lettered edge... and the 39/6! Can't wait to see the TV's if you got them...

Here’s the 1829….. maybe too many tic marks?
Are those rim dings that maybe they're focusing on? Still a nice coin

the quantity probably had less to do with it than just the one in front of the L. on a higher grade specimen, which yours is, that is a tough sell BUT to be fair, anyone looking at straight-graded large cents in the past 5-7 years has seen some pretty rough ones graded, SO i don't blame ya for trying!
i have been wondering for years how they handle really dark large cents, which half of your 29 is. one of many questions i have that will probably never be answered.
thanks for sharing pre-sub pics.
Sorry, the pics aren’t great, it’s really less dark and more brown than this shows.
The 1808 has quite a bit of chatter, so I think the point about marks being less forgivable on higher grade coins is valid.
Here is the questionable wreath cent, as well as the edge comparison between the two types:
.
pretty sure i've seen that damaged 93 here before?
i've said it before but i'll say it again, "it is best for coins like that to go in under the attribution service as the attributer should know secondary confirmation diagnostics unless he/she/they are bound by company policy. i made that mistake once on a large cent that had a fairly common but large cud on the rev. while the surfaces were certainly uncommon (i'd had only seen a few previously) i figured the cud would have locked it in but it came back QA.
Nice coins, best of luck!
I got the results for my first PCGS submission today, and I got the best grade that I thought was possible. I'll wait to post it for when the TrueView images load

Maybe I’ll send it to Bob Grellman….
Hey if someone can fake that vine&bars edge, I deserve to be fooled! But maybe they have? Can fakes produced via electro type copy the edges?
Bottom line, well done!

Ok enough of the junk, this is a nice cent:
Love the die crack. Awesome coin!

you know, in retro; i NEVER sent him enough coins. always enjoyed our interactions.
good idea. send it safely and ask him to do the same, not that i expect any different from either of you.
I think your 1829 got bagged for the dig in front of the "L" in LIBERTY, and the tic marks in between stars 10 and 11 and in between ONE and CENT on the reverse. There is also a little bit of roughness on the reverse... that said, I've seen worse in straight-graded holders (a certain 1794 LC springs to mind). I think Lance is onto something though... on VF-XF coins there may be some accommodation for "contact marks consistent with the grade". On higher grade specimens, like yours, they stand out a bit more so perhaps they're less accommodating of them. As for the color, I'm guessing it's more likely a product of your photographic set-up since the coins I got from you look 1-2 shades lighter "in-hand".
The 1793 Wreath is a bit of an enigma... I can definitely see where the coin has been tooled... I'm guessing here, but if enough metal got moved around perhaps it didn't meet the weight criteria?? Other than working on an actual '93 V&B Cent, I know of no way to get that edge.
...and I absolutely love that 1818! Nice looking Randall Hoard Cent...
Congrats again!!

Enigma - probably a good way to describe that tooled '93 wreath cent, LOL!
It is what it is - I don't see many wreath cents in ANY condition getting posted on the forum. I'm all in on it for WAY under $1000. Find me another one with at least a partial date and not holed or badly corroded for anywhere in this price range, and I'll buy it on the spot.
...Less than $1k on a '93 with a readable date and at least part of Ms. Liberty?!! ...all day every day...
I like the idea of having Bob Grellman take a look at it. At least you would have his attribution card to authenticate the coin. Not the same as having it graded by our hosts, but it lends "street cred" for the EAC guys...

@lkenefic I need some street cred! Where can I find it? 🙃

lol... maybe I should qualify that to not include the people that have actually written books on the topic..
