I'm not sure a book on Minting will address the myriad ways to damage a coin later. That will be a much larger book...or an incredibly fun video to make.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, my reason for recommending they read a book regarding minting processes would hopefully allow them to better understand the PMD they are witnessing could not have occurred during the process.
